I hope this is the right place to ask for help. I was booked on AC1208 (YUL-MIA) on Saturday 9 March. Flight originally delayed due to weather in Florida. We finally boarded but then there was a tech issue (loss of power after pushback – I *think* I heard APU issue?) that lead to the flight being cancelled and us being more than 12h late.

However on their "claim compensation" web form, AC claims the flight is not eligible because the flight was cancelled due to weather (not true, see above). How can I go about claiming compensation anyway?

Also, I am separately asking for expense reimbursement. Can I still use the form for that or would that somehow "prejudice" my compensation claim?
