I get the feeling (in my limited experience as a Platinum) that if you’re going to get upgraded (or people above you upgraded) it’s going to happen before you get to the airport. The airport list is mostly about how to distribute the last 1-2 seats that weren’t allocated in advance or by paid upgrades. Exceptions of course if a flight is particularly empty. It’s not like you get to the airport and see how you want in status against everyone else on that flight.
