EDIT: It looks like, for our case in which we are returning a rental car to the consolidated facility, Southwest is actually MORE convenient and less walking.
Southwest is now in the central concourse, so much better located than they were originally. HA is still better located for HNL-originating flyers, but as noted, Southwest is closer to the rental car center.
