I do agree with you about lobby being crowded and lots of mainland guests. A Club Room / Suite is an absolute must at Rosewood HK to shield it or the experience can be vastly different.
We checked in in our suite and my mom had an in suite check in as well. So luckily avoided the lobby,

I stopped by the MO and found the staff to be great (of course) but the hard product is just way too dated. Not sure they can really do much with it given the bones of the hotel.
I did miss being on the Island Side some. On that side, I think it's Four Seasons or TUH (after a refresh) for me.
