Unlike BA where everyone gets on the same type of bus, qr uses a fancy business class bus. (Or if you are really lucky a 1st class bus turns up)

If they start loading business pax first, those pax just sit there on the bus waiting other business pax who are still in the lounge quaffying champagne.

Hence the decision to load business pax later in the process, less hanging around on the bus.

if you push the gate staff, they will let you ride the economy bus(as they did for you). Itsca bit ofva squeeze on the economy bus. On the business bus there are usually enough seats for everyone, its more comfortable.

The vast majority of my flights at doh are bus to/from the aircraft. It is what I expect.

I prefer the board later rather than sit on the bus for ages awating the stragglers.

i have never found any issues why i need to be first on qr, unlike with ba or lh where space in the lockers on short haul can be a problem.

I've always managed to have time for my pre departure drink. Occassional they have not been able to take my food order before take off so they come back shortly after and take it.
