Just done exactly that trip - twice. MAN/LHR/SOF B2B SOF/LHR overnight in LHR and then to US. And then the exact same reverse journey. MAN/LHR/SOF on a different ticket to the SOF to US flight.

On the way out, printed the SOF/LHR ticket out at home (i.e. in the UK) by checking-in through BA's website 24 hours in advance, as was concerned that the BA App might not work. Absolutely no problems with the B2B.

On the way back, had to rely on the BA App working, which I accept can be a bit hit and miss. But I checked-in OK for SOF/LHR/MAN from the US, when starting my flight back and had my US/LHR/SOF tickets printed out in the US at check-in.

Really could not believe how straightforward the SOF B2B is. Literally about 30 minutes off the plane on each occasion.
