I understand that unlike US airline lounge one day or one visit passes, AC does not give a lounge pass when a customer enters the lounge; but only on a prepaid (to a AC flight) basis?
Take a look at the quailfying customers on the MLL page:
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...lounges.html#/
It indicates a 50K on a *A flight gets one guest and guests (presumably additional) can be invited for $59. I assume you pay this at the lounge desk; I have never done this. Given the crowding sitaution, it is possible AC could suspend this option periodically (I was in the US recently and the United club was not accepting passes).
I can't say there is value in the fee; maybe that is why it is so high.
