It's a lot quieter and smoother upstairs and you also have the side storage units which means you won't need to get to the overheads during the flight. If it's a night flight, consider the middle pair on to a bulkhead? There won't be much to see through the windows. So while I too try to get the direct access seats upper deck, I would recognise there is quite a difference between DXB and SIN, and that other seats are perfectly acceptable. Travelling CW shouldn't be a constant get-up-and-go experience I would hope! Trade offs and compromise are all part of life's rich tapestry. But if 5 months off, the scope for people changing their reservations is huge so it may work out.
