You are only sharing with 7 other people max so it isn't that frequently in use, outside of pyjama-changing times anyway.
I went out to DFW a couple of weeks ago in 2A. Though a day flight, it was fine there. There was a lot of faffing about by crew with the storage cupboard at the end of the flight. Had I been in 1A I would have been (very mildly) distracted from my film. So If available I find row 2 the best compromise. YMMV.
