My flight was delayed maybe ~45 minutes (late DL flight, supposed to get in at 12:45) and had to get up for work the next morning so I booked the easiest hotel to get to.

I was just contrasting the experience with: if, hypothetically, I had a flight that arrived at 3pm and the hotel "couldn't book guests into a floor due to fire code" and then was transported to HP, I probably would have viewed it as a win. When you get in late/leave early, the sleep and location are at a super premium.
