We had a couple of stays in the last month. Both stayed were rewards nights using points so booked as the basic "Classic" room. I am also a Diamond Ambassador. The first stay we were upgraded to a "Premium" room on 14th floor; this was the Ambassador upgrade. The second stay I used a Confirmable Suite Upgrade and this was to a Junior Suite on the 15th floor.
The Premium room had been recently refurbished and the Junior Suite hadn't. Given, like many hotels, the Junior Suite is just a larger, better placed room (not separate sleeping / living areas) the Junior Suite wasn't a significant step up from the Premium room in my opinion.
I did contact the hotel prior to arrival to confirm what rooms we would get and they were always very helpful, as were the excellent staff in the Club Lounge (courtesy of a Lounge Pass).
