That’s not the case for the Lounge Pass benefit. IHG terms state the following:
“Annual Lounge Membership available on Qualified Stays only, including Reward Night/Free Night and stays booked through an OTA.”
Another tidbit worth remembering (but not pertinent to your inquiry) about the IHG Lounge Pass is that the member may bring an additional guest to the lounge who does not need to be staying at the hotel. Both of these rules are unusually generous compared to other programs.
