Isn't that industry standard, though? When an individual hotel leaves the chain, what normally happens is that they will honor the reservation and that's it, making it as if you booked through an ineligible third-party channel.

Hotel must be participating at the time of check-in, hotel loyalty programs are usually pretty clear on that.
