That is garbage, as an AS emerald you 100% should have had access at LGA due to your same day DFW-LHR flight. And no changes to Canada access for elites, even if you were only flying say YUL-LGA-DFW you would have had access as well. I would have pushed back big time, asked for supervisor, etc. Send a complaint to AA for sure.
