I"m just making the argument that, if they're running a full schedule, not because there is passenger demand, but just because they have to keep the not-so-full planes moving as sfozrhfco claims, then there's no reason to have 19 planes. I think HA has 19 planes because they find the demand warrants it. Which is all the more reason for Alaska to continue operating a very robust inter-island schedule, rather than ratcheting it way back and just rotating planes from the mainland through the islands, as sfozrhfco suggests will happen. I think the inter-island schedule is as robust as it is because there is sufficient demand.
