Are you perhaps thinking of the lounge access rules if flying Aer Lingus on a BA codeshare? Which is only open to Golds, not Silver, IIRC.
As a general rule if you are on a BA or OW partner flight, you would have access to business class lounges/check-in/boarding priority via BA Silver/OW Sapphire status.
