The EQN thing is silly, because it's very doable for Hyatt to do it - they know who intended to stay and it's already in their system - and would be a smart sign of goodwill

The rest of the perks are probably a tough luck scenario, unless you get a really sympathetic hotel I don't know why they'd give you the upgrades/late checkout/breakfast etc.
