I'm looking at going to NYC using some miles given the great 50% reduction in miles needed offer for virgin. When looking at one way back from the USA, I find the taxes and surcharges are $996, but £996 for the return leg. Majority of this I'm guessing is the carrier imposed fuel surcharge which makes me wonder - how much are the taxes?
