I was not able to get anyone at chase to help assist or resolve the issue directly after spending around 6 hours of my time between calling and visiting a branch. So as a last ditch effort, I filed a complaint with the CFPB regarding the issue. My main complaint was really just that i requested an explanation for the discrepancy to understand why i am 1) being 1099 for a SUB that required spend, and 2) why the amount doesn't match the value received.
I was contacted by someone at chase executive office in the US about 2 days later and finally after about 4 weeks, i received complete resolution by Chase admitting there was an error and issuing me a corrected 1099-MISC.
Is the corrected 1099 $0 for the spending bonus?
