One solution that I did at SFO, but that wouldn’t work well at EWR in winter, is to rent a car. I was stuck at SFO with no rooms for 40 miles—some virus software thing was on. It cost just $50 or thereabouts, but I rented a car at Hertz taking it back to the Hyatt Regency. I parked in a quiet corner of the garage and got a good six hours sleep before activity in the started. I left the car off in the Hertz spaces and took the shuttle to the terminal; showered and breakfasted in the CL and was good to go.
