I recently used a Chase card, the United Quest specifically, for a car rental in Costa Rica. CR has very strict laws about car insurance; there's a basic mandatory insurance charge you must pay and additional insurance you can decline ONLY IF you can show that you're covered already. All I had to do was show a printout of the relevant page from the Chase site confirming insurance, and Alamo CR accepted it, no question. Over three weeks of rental this saved us several hundred dollars. Of course I didn't have a claim so can't speak to that.
