On your itinerary in your UA account under "upgrade cabin" it should show you a cash upgrade option (immediately confirmed into Polaris), if available, and you can also click on miles and apply a MUA. On an A fare from Europe to the US the MUA will cost 20k miles and a $425 copay. But you're most likely going to put on a waiting list if you do a MUA.
