Two problems with the Max beyond its questionable safety record - washrooms are simply too small, and seats (both J and Y) are just plain uncomfortable after more than two or three hours. Nice seatback screen and overhead bins, but that's about all they got right.
From a flyer's perspective, both the 321Neo and 321XLR simply blow it out of the water in every measurable way, and esp. with the lie-flats (think TAP or JetBlue Mint product). Once AC receives its own 321XLRs, I sincerely hope I never see a Max again. I too am more likely to die driving to the airport than in a 7M8 crash, but that's no consolation to my back three hours into a long flight. I despise the things.
