These cards must be very expensive to produce so multi-purposing them saves money, I guess.
The FA who gave it to me was, to say the least, poorly briefed. He congratulated me on achieving 1 million miles before I die, so I think, or I hope and project, he was joking. I said it is actually 5 million and he said "Oh that's a good one! Nobody flies United THAT much!" Nothing from the flight crew, no business card or short congratulations delivered in person.
And I have yet to see a single one of these coins I hear people get.
