The second night was upgraded to an ocean view room and the check-in agent struggled to assign a room to keep for both nights. I said I didn't care about the upgrade and would just take a regular king bed room. She found an ADA cottage room. I went to the room and within a minute walked back out. It looked nothing like on the website. It was dark even though the window blinds in the bedroom could not close (missing chain to operate it), neighbors could look into the cottage from three sides, it looked dated, did not smell fresh and instead of a regular work desk it had a small round table.
I asked to be moved to a regular room - in total the check-in process and moving to the new room took the better part of an hour.
I did not have to pay resort fees, but was charged $25 per day for parking. Besides the option of $10 breakfast credit (I took points) there were no Diamond benefits like a welcome amenity or free water bottles.
Housekeeping did not service the room - not sure if that's still a "Covid restriction" or they just missed it.
Would I return? Maybe if I need a cheap stay and the place is available on points, but I would not come back with the +1 for a vacation.
Uh oh. Me and the +1 are checking in tomorrow for a vacation
Will report back on our stay...
