How to address Florida Customer Service Ctr

Hi to all,

On my very first AF flight from MIA to CDG a few years ago I fainted while on my way to refresh myself in the rear lav. Apparently I had lost a lot of circulation to my legs while seated in a middle row seat in coach. The response from the flight crew was responsible and even a pax stepped in to check me out (he was a cardiologist, as I could gather in my broken understanding of French)... after refreshing myself and hydrating with LOTS of water I began to think about how I would take this up with the F+ customer service center as I sat in one of the rear jumpseats, stretching my legs. This even occured nearly half-way to CDG. I told the FA in charge of my cabin that all was well after staying at the rear of the plane for nearly half an hour.

So while not posting the letter I sent them, I'll post some of the information I gave them-

1. Medium tall, healthy male in mid 20s, extremely uncomfortable seats in coach, with my legs being literraly pinned by the seat in front of me; fainting occured in aisle on way to rear lav. Luckily I landed directly on the floor without impacting my head on any armrest. Upon waking I felt more embarrassed than anything, other than lightheaded and with cool extremitites.

2. After writing about this ordeal to the customer service office in south Florida, I received a standard reply letter with absolutely NO offer of compensation from AF.

3. Flight #, F+ #, Seat #

As a result, as I had indicated in my letter, I have not given AF any more of my business due to their not having taken my health as seriously as they should have and I have also communicated this with most of my friends in Europe and those that are considering AF as a way of reaching Europe.

I remember excellent service, decent food, and a friendly flying atmosphere, but a big no no from the health front. I have been on crowded third world buses with slight altitude sickness and the effects were not as pronounced as my fainting spell onboard this particular flight.

My question to you folks:

Has anyone ever had this kind of experience with AF or for that matter, an airline and what kind of steps did you take to get some kind of compensation- be it miles or money from them without going as far as legal action?
