The elephant in the room is that Kayak are reporting that searches by airframe manufacturer by route are increasingly strong in favour of Airbus equipment over Boeing equipment.
This is possibly a transitory problem but if I were AC’s fleet procurement manager, I would diversify away from Boeing and increase my Airbus share of my long haul fleet.
AC's recent refurbishment and procurement of some additional 333s would seem to satisfy this. No need to introduce a whole new type.
