My Hilton app shows my upcoming stays; yours should too.
You should have received an email confirmation with a number.
Endure chatting with Hilton via the app. Tell them your email confirmation got cut off in your email app and you can't read part of it, and can they please resend it? Do it in the app because writing. Save it.
And yes, show up even before check in time, even though your room won't be ready.
Where is this hotel, if you don't mind saying? Big city like Dallas or tinier area?
I would not worry, but I would also be proactive. I am amazed by what even Motel 6s charge for 4 minutes.
Thank you for taking the time to answer - I truly appreciate it. I am 95% sure all will go well, and we do have back up plans. It is a small town right on the line of totality (= dark skies nearby), so the rate we got is just unheard of compared to the current rates. At this point, looking for information from those more experienced than me with high traffic events.
I got an email and can see the stay in my app and on line - that was never an issue. It was just recently that I noticed (or even thought to look, honestly) there are no records on the Hilton side that they had received my deposit. And, due to the nature of the event, if there is an issue, I doubt we could be moved to another nearby hotel even if they agreed to. Does anyone know in general what order rooms are assigned when there is an overbooked situation?
