Knowing Krug is in very short supply, crew is now actively steering passengers to other choices which I find annoying. I flew back from Paris (where no champagne offered on the ground so SQ can save VAT!) and after my first glass of Krug they came with the basket of wines to entice me to stop drinking Krug. I told them I am aware there is only one bottle and I will drink till it's done. We crossed the red line (aka the bottle was empty) after the first 90 minutes.
The Krug supply situation is one thing, but no champagne offered as pre-departure drink on the ground in F/ Suites (in CDG) is unacceptable. Even if it was one of the (currently) other two champers, saving a few dollars in VAT for the most premium cabin and pax paying the highest fares is entirely the wrong approach in my book.
I did CDG-TPE a while back on BR and they were serving the VC La Grand Dame that was on the menu then without issues in J as pre-departure drink (and their glasses are better as well, but not an issue for you

).
