You haven’t had the misfortune of flying EI regional in a while I take it? 😉 It was relocated a few years ago from the area between 200 and 100 gates to an area beside the north runway adjacent to the hangar facilities (pretty much in Swords). This is one of the areas identified for new pier construction, but that’s a ways into the future.
If the LCY service moved to being bussed to this area it would be a huge retrograde step. I’m pretty sure the 300 gates are E190 compatible (Helvetic use on behalf of LX) but not sure about the 400s.
For many years the BACF DUB-LCY flights almost exclusively used 311, with occasional use of other 300 gates, but always on pier 3. Only in the last few years have the LCY flights been relegated to the 200 gates alongside the LHR services.
