AA has said their international strategy is to not compete with other airlines, so for me connecting at an airport that has international options is more important than worrying about taking a scenic bus ride around the tarmac.
While AA's proclaimed strategy is interesting, I'm still confused what AA will plan to do once its upgrades of LAX at Terminal 4 and 5 conclude and the slot waivers in the NYC area for LGA and JFK go away and AA is forced to use the slots JetBlue has to return to it from the NEA.

Surely AA wouldn't do something as foolish as give up gates or slots in NYC or LA, and I'd have to think wasting slots on likely saturated domestic routes isn't the right answer?
