For JL DEL is considered Asia by AS (until the new chart comes), it's why for a long time (until stopovers got yanked) SIN-TYO(stop)-DEL in J priced as a one way Asia redemption (and obviously every hacker in Asia figured this out and used it).
Just because "everyone else does it" doesn't mean AS does it, you literally
can't book an award like QF Y CHC-SYD using AS miles (until the new award chart comes into effect). Pretty much every other OW program or QF partner can.
