I mean, did you have any bread they served considering no wheat production over 200 years ago in Japan? Does a Vietnamese hotel must serve rice? What about a Mexican hotel doesn't have any taco station? So Japanese customers have to eat whatever they are eating at home everyday while staying at Conrad Tokyo, because the Hotel may NOT serve anything international?
I have stayed at the Conrad Tokyo half a dozen times both pre and post-lockdown mainly because Hilton points are easier to earn than Marriott on spend (Hilton Aspire vs Bonvoy Brilliant and Amex MR transfer ratios). I agree with Mystery7 above that the breakfast is not great. Sure, you get one dish a la carte but the rest of the buffet spread is not very impressive. Hot foods are mainly limited to what you would get in an English fry up and the East Asian section in the front does not have much. One time over the Christmas holiday in 2022 there were no eggs on the buffet spread and you were limited to the a la carte options. I think the problem with the taco station is that is more reminiscent of Taco Bell than anything authentic. I have seen similar taco stations in Okinawa but that is because taco rice is a popular touristy food there. I do, however, like putting the taco toppings on top of the tater tots and building a sports bar dish.
