Booked one of the promo 5K tickets online yesterday. Received email that miles had been deducted (true) and another email about payment failure and to call AA to complete the payment. I decided to use another credit card but rather than calling AA to complete the first reservation I just cancelled it online (the unticketed reservation) and successfully completed a new reservation with a different cc. However, no email that the first reservation was cancelled (but it is gone when I try to look it up so it is def. cancelled) and now almost 24h later the 5K miles have still not been refunded. I should be patient or escalate?
