Hotel: St Regis Kuala Lumpur
Room Booked: Caroline Astor Suite
Rate: 1455 CAD taxes in for 2 nights. The first night was 567 and I added the second the day before check-in so it priced higher at 888. Both nights were originally available at the lower rate when I first booked.
Early Check-in: Yes. I arrived at the hotel about 130 and my room was ready for me.
Late Checkout: not needed

Upgrade: Not offered. The check-in agent indicated that I had the highest category suite booked so they weren't able to upgrade me. That's not strictly true but I think all the higher category suites fall into the ultra premium category so I wasn't expecting an upgrade.
$100 Food & Beverage Credit: Offered but with substantial restrictions on which restaurants and bars it could be used in. The one I wanted to use it in wasnt open when I had some free time. I ended up partially using it for an afternoon beer - gratuity still had to be paid in cash.
Breakfast: The breakfast restaurant was quite tight. There were a lot of people and layout is not very well designed. The way the breakfast spread was laid out wasn't particularly logical either so you had a lot of back flowing traffic. The food was alright; in the bottom half of upscale hotel breakfasts I've had.
Comment: The service was a bit hit and miss. Some staff were great while others were pretty indifferent. I loved the suite. It was spacious, well designed and definitely felt luxurious. I'm still of two minds about the location. It's not far from most things by car but it's also not walking distance to anything except the main train station and attached mall. This is one place where the pay in advance option is well with it. The spread on the Malaysian Ringgit was not the tightest and the pay ahead conversion was pretty much at mid-market.
