There was a fairly serious error on my check-in two weeks ago which resulted in the reservation basically being wiped. Wonder if there's an ongoing system issue? (Very strong service recovery, btw.)

"Eat in the lounge" just means go to the buffet in the restaurant and take your plate into the adjacent lounge. I always eat in the restaurant - the servers are great.
