For such a small number of points, couldn't they just credit them instantly rather than tying them to a future stay?
1) Has anyone reported any issues in receiving their 2K points on their next stay? No. In fact people have even reported receiving the award for a stay that hadn’t even posted to their Hyatt account yet, and that day had a qualifying stay which it automatically applied the award to giving them the points, with 0 additional effort on their end.

2) I feel quite the opposite for years Globalists had 0 use for the 20 and 30 night Milestones, yet they’d earn them year in and year out. Now they actually have a second option. Quite literally the only effort they have to put in is choosing it, then staying at a Hyatt House, Hyatt Place, Caption by Hyatt or URCove property that’s it!

You may view 4,000 points a year as small and insignificant, but that’s 500 more than is needed for a stay at a Cat 1 Off Peak. I booked one recently where the cash rate was $230 US but they had award rooms for only 3,500.

Further I think Hyatt is trying to ensure the lower brands of Hyatt still get a good amount of stays. With the new changes many many more people will be flooding properties with Club Lounges, Aspirational properties, Cat 4 properties and properties with great Standard Suites, due to gifting/trading, all of which are in the higher brands of Hyatt. These Next Stay Awards only work at the lower limited service brands by design and its to ensure they stay busy as well as happy too. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth as they say.
