My wife and I were booked on AC from YVR-YYZ-TLV next week, me on a flexible business revenue ticket and she on a lowest Aeroplan business reward ticket. As such, I would have been eligible for entry into the SS in Toronto, but she would not have been. A few weeks ago, AC cancelled out YYZ-TLV flight and instead put us both on LH flights in business, YVR-FRA-TLV. Our booking shows us both now in Business Class (Z). Given that I booked and paid for my airfare to AC and it is only due to their cancellation that I am on LH, will I be allowed into the SS in Vancouver? If so, what are my wife's chances of getting in now that she is in Z class and given that her original ticket was ineligible for entry?
Just to update this in case anyone else finds themselves in this situation, I emailed the concierge in Vancouver and received a response today that given the circumstances I will be permitted to use the Signature lounge. My wife won't be permitted, but that makes sense as she was on an ineligible ticket to begin with.
