I've said this before - but it amazes me how incredibly stupid Marriott has been in this whole partnership. My guess is that Marriott did not want their members earning off of MGM bookings, which is incredibly short sighted and stupid. They stood to gain all the points purchases from MGM that their members would've earned, which is no chump change when it's all added up. Instead, most of those individuals will probably book by MGM instead and not only will they get a better deal, but MGM will not have to pay out Marriott fee for points like they did with Hyatt....or worse - they'll book with Caesars.
Dumb Dumb Dumb. What a wasted opportunity on Marriott's part.
