Only if hotel's points-bookable rooms (which doesn't always include all the room types) haven't been sold out by now.

I was trying to take advantage of a promo that Best Western sent me a few weeks ago for earning more points, but even some BW hotels that were slightly outside of the zone of totality (which I'd booked last fall) were now sold out, and thus I couldn't cancel and safely redo my reservation.
