HEL is a lovely airport to connect though. However, it depends on specific route you are looking for - a lot of AY's routes aren't daily, so the risk of something going wrong and getting stuck is higher (however I find them to be extremely reliable, it's just a point).

From my experiences on AY, their planes aren't all that full, and I haven't been bothered about the service due to eating in the lounge and skipping the service on the flight, so the chances of an empty seat next to you are higher than on AA (although DEL is weight restricted on AA, sooo).

Personally, I'd prefer to break the trip up into shorter flights vs one long slog.
