My flight out of Cairo is at 2am. I am only Gold through Bonvoy, so late checkout may be available up to 2pm at the latest I suppose. Does anyone know if the hotel allows to pay perhaps a half day rate for later checkouts? Im thinking maybe 10pm? I don't think I could hang out at the hotel for an additional 8 hours without a room and it's not like the location allows for much exploring outside. If not, I may have to swallow the cost of an additional night, but perhaps ask to change to their most basic room (currently booked the deluxe garden view through points). Any ideas or insight from similar experience are more than welcome. This is for a mid-Feb '24 stay if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Post-trip follow-up in case someone is in a similar situation in the future: Marriott Mena House will let you pay 20/hour + tax (~27/hour) until 7pm to extend late check-out. I had 2pm through Bonvoy Gold and still got charged ~80 instead of the 135 I thought I would pay. Either way, it was a no-brainer for us as it allowed us to enjoy the pool until the mid afternoon, shower, pack with no rush, etc. After check-out we spent about an hour at the bar and then went for dinner looking at the pyramids before leaving the hotel at ~10:30pm. I can't say enough good things about this hotel.
