Just to confirm that Air China does NOT provide interlining when transiting in Shanghai. This should be clearly explained when one buys a Lufthansa ticket that includes an Air China flight, as I did. As present, there is no warning.

This is the reply I got from Air China:

Dear passenger,

Well note your email and hope this could find you well.

For the time being, we do not provide baggage check-in service for Air China + other airlines transiting in Shanghai.
