If any of you has a status with Radisson, I highly recommend going for the Radisson Blu instead. I always got excellent upgrades there (automatically, without having to beg), parking spot easily reserved even on busy days, late checkout is never an issue and price tends to be better than the Hilton. It's on the opposite side of the river promenade so just as central, but closer to the main street of the old town. The only downside is lack of river views but recently I got a nice room with a window right above Długi Targ, which was pretty nice too.

I was just booking a short stay in Gdansk today and I just can't see a justification to pay extra for Hilton, especially since they'd most likely give me just a standard room.
