If you have no residential / nationality ties to a specific EU country, you'll have to sue in the country of the departure point of your flight.

If you want to be reimbursed for the replacement flight, you should pay cash. The more you complicate things, the less likely your reimbursement will be approved. And you would have no chance of reimbursement if you book a Business Class award. There is no way for the courts to confirm after the fact that you were "saving money" by spending more miles. Screenshots are so easily photoshopped that they aren't much good in court.


Book yourself on the alternative flight with miles and take the refund from RJ. Or take the flights on offer from RJ...
