I will probably still create new TK accounts and start accruing miles there, then do my status match another day further in the future. I suppose I will be able to keep some forms of miles or perhaps even status points if I do that?
well , not 100% sure what you already have , not sure if you still have SK EB or not , but unless specific case , having more than 1 FFP per alliance is not a good idea
TK miles does expire after 3 years , regardless if you fly or not. Only way to "save them" by extending their lives for another 3 years is to pay
As you can do this match only once in your life and only gold is useful at alliance level (with TK as silver you have benefits that only apply for TK and AJ flights) , double check what will be your future plans for the next years before applying for status match
