Had a decent stay here for a couple nights. Most of DC was booked out for a large convention, so I was lucky to get a room here on points at the last minute. I found the service to be welcoming and kind. They upgraded me to the same jr suite pictured a few messages above, which was great on a solo stay. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Water pressure was strong. I do feel like they have dialed back the scent in the Bowmakers amenities to the point where it’s just colored soap, and definitely in the lotion which barely has any discernible scent whatsoever. Shame. I’m a big fan of the scent. There was a Nespresso machine in the room. No free water bottles, despite them mentioning there would be at check-in.
Breakfast at The Surveyor was a solid 7/10. We received vouchers for 1 entree, juice and a coffee. Some effort to have creative options was appreciated. I found the food quality to be good. Service on the first day was excellent. Not as great on the second day. Also on Day 1, no problem having a latte. On Day 2, I was told drip coffee only. On both days I also ordered a few sides. Although I was charged, these were wiped from my final bill.
The fitness center had good equipment (7/10) but was a bit small. No issue if only a couple people, but one day I went there were 5 people working out and it was really tight (and not!). They had just one Peloton bike. Other equipment was Technogym and TRX.
Not hotel related, but both to/from DCA we ended taking a red cab. Ubers and Lyfts were $40-60, while the red cab ended up being $17-22. The front desk was happy to call a taxi for us. The hotel is about 1.5 blocks from the Metro as well, which was very convenient.
I’d go back here. Some good restaurants in walking distance (Albi was amazing!!! Chloe also quite good. Nando’s, Sweetgreen, Potbelly all within a block).
