He was flying 747s from/into HKG to XXX including LHR but not sure exactly when. Hopefully he can throw some routes in too?
Cathay started HKG-BAH-LGW with B747-200's, with RR RB211-B2 engines. These did not have the range to do HKG-LGW nonstop. It wasn't until the "super 200's" with RB211-D4's arrived that HKG-LGW nonstop was possible. The move to LHR occurred after the first gulf war, allegedly as a reward for Cathays help moving troops and equipment to DHA with their freighters.
