Update: I was able to rebook travel directly through Delta using the ecredit (with two separate flights, did not have to use all at once), no issues. There was no $50 fee as the Delta support indicated. When I went back to my C1 portal I still see the "Airline Travel Credit" however when I click book travel, it brings up a pop up to contact support. So no duplicate credit sitting around.
Since you admittedly fly Delta a lot, wouldn't it just be a whole lot easier to book a flight you intend to take with the credit, fly that flight, and move on with life?
It's just bizarre the amount of crazy things people put themselves through to use this fairly simple credit...
