This was a night flight so that is hardly an issue. In any case, the considerably greater room in the row 11/19 seats surely overrides any such considerations; I have not come across many (any?) people who prefer less room to more room! My point was that most of the J pax were apparently unaware of the seating issues on these planes.
Or perhaps the seat was not available for booking; someone may have missed the flight etc.
Many people may also find the seat perfectly adequate. As a side sleeper I know it doesn’t bother me.
